Last week of Term 4

On Monday we started the week making our baby chick Easter cards, with the children enjoying using forks to create the fluffy chick bodies and then decorating with features!  "They're so cute!"

We also had time to continue our love for writing sentences and remembed to include a capital letter, finger space after each word and a full stop at the end.

Why not have a go at writing some sentences over Easter to tell us about your favourite egg or something that you've been doing?

On Tuesday the wheels on the bus certainly did go round and round as we made our way up to Chaddleworth to see where we would be going for our Easter service. As we all got on the bus there was much excited chatter and as the bus began the steep climb up the hill we were already hearing the classic question "Are we nearly there yet?" to which someone replied "Yes", at which point we did have to say that we weren't quite there yet but this certainly didn't dampen the mood in the bus and we had soon arrived at our destination! We were all very excited to see the church for the very first time and even got to practice saying our lines from the Easter story.

We had hopped our way through most of Tuesday and were now ready to make our Easter treats. This week we were not making just any biscuit we were making bunny biscuits and all of Robins were extremely eager to get started! We creamed our butter and sugar and combined our flour, using our hands to mix it all together we were soon left with a buttery dough and were ready to roll it out.

Once rolled the children used the bunny cutter to create their bunny biscuits and then it was time to place them in the oven. When ready we finished off our bunny biscuits by covering them with a bunny shaped piece of icing....who could ask for a more delicious suitable Easter treat!

And finally it was Wednesday. It was a different start to the day as we all headed straight to the Church in Chaddleworth. Thank you to all parents for dropping off at the right place, pre ordering lunches and staying to take part in the service. We were at the front, adults at the back but we have no doubt that you could hear the Robins singing so enthusiastically and we just hoped you could see their smiles  - they were loving seeing so many of you there. They all read their parts of the Easter story too, even picking up some last minute lines to cover those who were not able to make the service but I am sure nobody could tell as the Robins just got on with it - brilliant resilience and team effort.

After the Church service we headed back to school. Huge thank you to the PTFA for organising the most fun morning - full of hoppety fun and Easter Peg Hunts and an even bigger thank you to the Easter bunny!

All that is left to say is have a fantastic Easter break and see you all next term - for even more fun ......and learning!
