Sport & Pupil Premium

Additional funding provided to schools to support disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

This is designed to address inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. Schools use the funds for pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’). We also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel.

Details of the arrangements for funding the pupil premium, including allocations at school level, parliamentary constituency level and local authority level can be found HERE.

  • develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport that your school provides
  • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
