Another great week!

In English, we are continuing to focus on word classes and sentence construction. This week we thought about 'we was' and 'they was' and how they are not grammatically correct. The children were also able to identify verbs and subjects in sentences. In Maths, were using the rhyme '0, 1, 2, 3, 4 hit the floor, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 climb the vine' and number lines to help us round to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and 10,000. In spellings, we have been talking about morphology and the origins of words.

In Science, our discussions centred around physical properties of materials and we also thought about variables in an investigation. We were able to determine which variables would change in our investigation about thermal insulators and which needed to be controlled (kept the same for each group). The ice is already setting in the freezer ready to see which material will be the best thermal insulator.

In Geography, we were using our map skills to locate famous and important physical and human features of Greece. The children are also trying to remember capital cities of European countries. They all picked one to try and remember for next lesson. I wonder how many you know?! Next week, are will be researching Greece using the computers. In PE, our football training continues with Coach Tom. The children were very good and dribbling the ball and scoring goals. In Computing, we reminded ourselves of question types and then tried to make a quiz more user friendly and eye catching to the user. Unfortunately, some of the buttons in 2Quiz disappeared, so we are going to try again next week. Although it was frustrating, the children definitely learnt about patience and trying other ways to reach our goals. And finally... we looked at one point perspective in art, building up to our final piece!

Don't forget homework is due in on Fridays.

Have a lovely weekend.
